Brian O’Donnell, American WeatherStar founder, graduated from the University of South Alabama in 1992 with a marketing degree and began his career in the commercial roofing industry in 1994. The majority of his experience has been in the roof coatings industry. He worked for two coatings manufactures in regional and national sales management before working as an independent rep from 2000 – 2004. In Jan 2004 American WeatherStar was launched with the assistance from several reps in the industry and a great relationships with several contractors. Brian has been married to his wife Laura since 1998. They have 3 children and live in Mobile, AL.
His professional career started in the electrical industry in 1988, not too far from where our corporate headquarters are located in Mobile Alabama. He spent eight years in the electrical industry moving on to a regional building materials supply company. He would spend the next ten years working in various facets of the building materials industry before starting his career with a regional roofing supply company in 2006. He was introduced to Brian O’Donnell, the owner of American WeatherStar in 2007 and was enticed to join the team in 2010. When Scott started, American WeatherStar employed four people. He has watched it grow to 16 people over the last five years. Scott and his wife Shiela have four children and they live in Mobile, AL.
Katie Lott, Operations Manager & HR Director, graduated from the University of South Alabama in 1985 with a degree in Management. After graduating, Katie excelled in various management positions handling workers compensation, employee benefits, human resources and operations. She left the corporate world for several years to concentrate on raising her two daughters. With over 15 years of management experience, Katie started with American Weatherstar. As the sole employee in 2006, Katie is thrilled to have witnessed the continual growth and development since she joined American Weatherstar 10 years ago. Katie has been married to her husband Tommy for almost 30 years. They have two daughters and a son-in-law and live in Mobile, AL.
Kristin Dixon, American WeatherStar, Business Development Center Director, graduated from MGM High School In Semmes, AL. She began her career in a call center environment, which grew into hospitality HR management. After High School, she transitioned to Prism Hospitality Human Resource Management studies. Upon completion and becoming an HR Director at 22, she decided to further her career path. She pursued a Quality Assurance position to add to her acquired business knowledge. When Kristin joined AWS, she brought 12 years of managerial experience in fields such as Human Resources, Sales Management, Quality Assurance, Customer Service and Call Center Management. Kristin has been with AWS since 2012. She has been married to her husband Gamel since 2008. They have four children and live in Mobile, AL.
