Urethane Brush-Grade 522

Urethane Brush-Grade 522 is a high-solids, single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane elastomeric coating. Specifically formulated with a thicker consistency than Urethane 520, Urethane Brush-Grade 522 is a mastic designed to waterproof and protect large gaps and problem areas.

  • Extremely durable and resistant to dirt pick-up
  • Reduces daily expansion and contraction (thermal cycling) of roofing substrate
  • Superior adhesive and cohesive strength
  • Excellent elongation and tensile strength
  • Superior UV protection and reflectivity

2-gallon pail, 5-gallon pail

Urethane Brush-Grade 522 was developed from Aromatic Urethane 520 as a waterproofing mastic to use with Urethane 520 and other coatings. With excellent adhesive qualities, Urethane Brush-Grade 522 can be used to restore and protect most conventional commercial and industrial roofing substrates.

Surface Prep:

All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of any oil, grease or dirt prior to coating. Pressure washing is recommended for older coatings. Do not apply within two hours of sunset, rain, fog, or freezing temperatures.

Apply by heavy brush as received. Thinning up to 6% by volume with xylene is permissible if viscosity increases. For cold weather application, keep material stored above 65 Deg. F. Reacts with water and water vapor in the atmosphere.

Water contamination in closed container can result in pressure build-up. Under properly controlled conditions, this product has a 3-6 month shelf life. Applied coatings will cure in approximately 24 hours at 60° F and 40% relative humidity. Lower temperatures and humidity will require longer cure time.

Avoid moisture contamination in sealed containers. Store in a dry environment at temperatures between 40°F – 100°F. Keep away from heat, open flames, or sparks. Use only in well ventilated areas with proper protective equipment. Avoid breathing vapor or mist.
