The 85,000-square-foot spray polyurethane foam roof at Tolleson Industrial in Tolleson, Arizona, was restored with American WeatherStar’s Foam-Gard™ Roof Restoration System, renewing the existing roof with additional SPF, silicone coatings, and a protective granulated finish.
Research
The Tolleson Industrial facility features approximately 85,000 square feet of low-slope spray polyurethane foam roofing. With an existing SPF roof already in place, restoration provided an opportunity to renew the roofing assembly while retaining the benefits of a seamless, insulated roof system.
An American WeatherStar Platinum Elite Contractor selected the Foam-Gard™ Roof Restoration System. Designed for spray polyurethane foam roofs, Foam-Gard™ combines SPF with high-solids silicone coatings to create a seamless, durable, and weather-resistant roofing system.
Process
Before restoration began, the existing roof surface was pressure washed to remove dirt, dust, and other contaminants. Proper surface preparation helped provide a clean substrate for strong adhesion throughout the restoration system.
A high-density, plural-component spray polyurethane foam layer was then applied across the prepared roof and around penetrations, curbs, and other details. The SPF created a continuous insulation layer while providing a seamless foundation for the protective coating system.
With the SPF application complete, two coats of High-Solids Silicone 412 were applied across the roof to create a seamless, waterproof membrane with strong UV and weather resistance. Roofing Granules were broadcast into the final coat to provide additional durability, weather resistance, and impact protection.
Result
The completed Foam-Gard™ System renewed the 85,000-square-foot SPF roof with a seamless, insulated, and weather-resistant roofing assembly protected by High-Solids Silicone 412 and Roofing Granules.
Tolleson Industrial received a 15-year American WeatherStar Roof Coatings Material Warranty for long-term protection.
