- Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Pressure wash (2,500–3,500 psi) if necessary. Some substrates may require mechanical abrasion for better adhesion.
- Mixing/Thinning
Stir thoroughly before use. Do not thin unless specified in product instructions.
- Application Methods
Apply using a brush, roller, or airless sprayer in a thin, even coat. Avoid pooling or over-application.
- Dry Time
Allow to dry completely before applying the topcoat. Dry time varies with temperature, humidity, and substrate but is typically 30 minutes to a few hours.
- Limitations/Precautions
Do not apply below 50°F. Avoid application if rain is imminent, as water-based primers can wash off before drying. Confirm compatibility with the intended coating system.
- Storage/Handling
Store in a cool, dry place, away from freezing temperatures. Keep containers sealed to prevent contamination.
- Cleanup/Disposal
Clean tools and equipment with soap and water immediately after use. Do not dispose of liquid primer in drains or waterways. Follow local regulations for disposal.
