Color-Gard+^™ Architectural Roof Coating System

The roof surface is pressure washed to remove all dirt, dust, debris, and other foreign contaminants. This step ensures maximum adhesion of the system to the roof substrate. In some cases, an application of Red Oxide Rust Prime 912 may be necessary. Any problem areas found during surface preparation must be properly addressed before the system can be installed.

All seams, fasteners, penetrations, drains, and other flashing details are treated with Terminator 622. This highly-flexible waterproofing mastic enables the system to withstand the natural expansion and contraction (thermal cycling) of the roof structure. This step of the application process is important, as the “details” of a metal roof are generally where leaks to occur.

To achieve the desired dry film thickness (DFT), a base coat of High-Tensile Acrylic 211 is applied to the roof surface. This advanced high-tensile acrylic coating ensures applicators maintain uniform mil thickness throughout the installation and is uniquely formulated for maximum color retention and adhesion to metal roof substrates.

A top coat of High-Gloss Acrylic 215 provides a flexible, high-gloss, architectural finish. This product produces a low-build protective membrane and provides excellent weatherability, abrasion resistance, colorfastness, and resistance to dirt pick-up.
